On February 27th 2025 a distinguished group of students from the Global and Development Studies programme was honored with the Dean’s Scholarships for their outstanding academic achievements. The official ceremony was attended by Dr. hab. Piotr Bajor, Prof. UJ, Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies, Dr. Maciej Turek, Acting Director of IRAS & GLAD and Dr. Dominika Dziwisz.

The IRAS & GLAD programs have long been known for their academic excellence, dynamic student community, and commitment to fostering global perspectives. As we continue to evolve and support our students, we would like to share an important leadership update for the upcoming academic year. Dr. Dominika Dziwisz, who has led IRAS & GLAD with vision and dedication, will be taking a one-year sabbatical, to focus on scientific research. While she will remain connected to our programs and visit the faculty during this period, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Maciej Turek will step in as Acting Director.

The recent UkraineMUN event, organized by our students, provided an engaging platform to address the ongoing war in Ukraine through a United Nations simulation. This event not only demonstrated the students' initiative but also offered them a unique opportunity to delve into the complexities of international relations.

The Jagiellonian University celebrated a significant milestone, as the Class of 2024 from the International Relations and Area Studies (IRAS) and Global and Development Studies (GLAD) programmes graduated in a joint ceremony. It was a day filled with joy, pride, and a sense of accomplishment as graduates, their families, and faculty members gathered to mark the culmination of 3 years of hard work and dedication.
